Abstract: Livestock policy determinates development trends of livestock production in China, Although much emphasis has been put on production structure reform in recent year, pig production still be an important industry in China. Since 2/3 of pigs was produced by households,the policy should play a key role to guide and encourage householders production towards intensive production. After analysis of survey datum collected from the households of Shandong and Sichuan provinces, the utility function of livestock policy to pig householders production is evaluated.
