Abstract: The research aimed to discuss the effect of atractylodes macrocephala on the tension of isolated jejunum and caecum of chook. Adopting the experiment of isolated apparatus, put the jejunum and caecum of chook in the magnus’ bath with physiological solution, then add the vary dosage decoction of atractylodes macrocephala, make the concentration as 3.75, 7.50, 15.00, 22.50mg/ml, observing and noting the tension change of the isolated intestine. The decoction of atractylodes macrocephala could accelerated the movement of unstriped muscle of chook’s jejunum, enhanced the shrink and diastole tension, aggrandized the contract swing, the more the dosage added the more the effect reinforced. The decoction had marked restrain effect on the self-discipline contract movement of caecum, reduced the tension and contract swing of intestines, added the more decoction, the restrain effect made more evident. Atractylodes macrocephala could enhance the tension of isolated jejunum in chook; restrain the tension of caecum, the effect along with the dosage added.
