Abstract: In order to understand the types of pathogenic fungi on wild oats (Avena fatua L.) in Henan Province and provide basic information for the utilization of pathogenic fungal resources on weeds and the development of microbial herbicides, samples were isolated by tissue isolation method. The isolates were identified by morphological observation and alignments of rDNA ITS sequence, and the pathogenicity of some isolates was tested by artificial inoculation. A total of 17 species of 9 genera were identified among 157 strains isolated from 81 samples. Among the 28 strains for pathogenicity detection, the Curvularia isolate YM1362 showed strong pathogenicity for the tested weeds, but no pathogenicity for cotton, soybean, peanut and other plants. The results indicated that the main pathogenic fungi on wild oats belonged to Alternaria, Curvularia, Bipolaris and Exserohilum; and the isolate YM1362 had the potential for developing biological herbicides for preventing Poaceae weed in dicotyledon field.
