褪黑素在植物中的功能研究进展

摘要:

褪黑素是一种广为人知的动物激素,在动物中由松果体合成与分泌,参与动物的昼夜节律的调节。现已发现褪黑素在高等植物中广泛存在,但是目前有关褪黑素在植物中的功能研究还不是很多。已有的研究表明褪黑素在植物中可能的作用有调节光周期、参与生长调节、清除活性氧、提高抗氧化酶活性等。根据近年的研究结果对植物中褪黑素的作用进行综述。重点阐述已经发现的褪黑素在植物上的功能作用,对其潜在生理功能进行了预测,并指出了目前研究中的不足,突出需要重点研究的方向。

Abstract:

Melatonin (N-acetyl-5-methoxytryptamine) is a well-known hormone of vertebrate, which is synthesized in pineal gland and secreted to the blood in animals. Melatonin is generally considered to be the chemical expression of darkness. Melatonin has been detected in a number of plant species. Its role in the plant kingdom is not clear enough. The suggested functional implications include the coordination of photoperiodic responses and regulation of plant growth, its participation as a free radical scavenging agent and up regulator of certain protective enzymes in the senescent process. This review presented a summary of the investigations in the plant melatonin field, and pointed out the problems. The potential functions of melatonin in plant kingdom were also predicted.
