Nitrogen is one of necessary nutritional ingredients for growth of wheat and has important influence on yield and quality of it. Analyzing current situation of studying in domestic and international nitrogen nutrition, this paper summaries the research works on nitrogen (N) nutrition in wheat from effect on physiological characteristics、colony quality and leaf photosynthetic characteristics、yields and grain weight、quality, and correlation between yields and quality. N-nutritional mechanism and control measurements, which can raise yield and protein contents of wheat, are briefly described at the same time, and these indicate nitrogen play an important role in wheat nutrition.
