Applying Automated Extraction Techniques of Stream Channel to Determine Arid Ephemeral Arroyos

摘要: 为了研究极端干旱区季节性河流集水网的自动生成技术,采用ArcGIS平台提供的水文分析模型,在数字高程模型的基础上,进行戈壁集水区干沟的自动提取,讨论汇流累积阈值对提取干沟的影响,并与TM影像中的干沟进行叠加比较,检验自动提取沟谷的精度。结果表明:集水面积阈值越小,提取河网越致密,反之则提取河网稀疏。由于研究区地域辽阔,根据研究目标当集水面积阈值为4.5 km2时,提取沟谷已经较好地刻画了戈壁集水区干沟分布状况,所提取的沟谷在整个集水区上游山区以及支干主干沟道与实际沟谷吻合较好,可以满足应用需要。集水面积阈值与河源1级沟谷数相关曲线存在转折点,可以根据转折点时对应的集水面积阈值,初步确定沟谷提取的最佳阈值。

Abstract: In order to study the effective method of arroyos extraction for ephemeral stream in hyper-arid area. Arroyos were extracted automatically in gobi catchment using the hydrological analysis model in ArcGIS platform on the base of DEM, and the author discussed the effect of drainage water threshold on the extracted arroyos by overlapping the TM image to verify the accuracy. The results showed that: the smaller the drainage water threshold, the finer and more concentrated of the extracted arroyos were, while the larger of drainage water threshold results in the sparser of extracted arroyos; as the research area was large, according to the research objectives, when the drainage water threshold reached to the 4.5 km2, the extracted arroyos would better describe the arroyos distribution in gobi catchment, with the better matching up arroyos located in the upper catchment and in the main and sub-main breaches, could meet the practical needs. The fact that there was a turning point on the curve between drainage water threshold and the accumulated numbers of the first sources breaches could be used to roughly determine the best drainage water threshold for arroyos extraction.
