Abstract:

This article studied geographical indications’ agricultural products of “Ningxia rice”, focused on the feasibility and path of its industrialization. First, analyzed the conditions of natural resources of Ningxia plain, and the unique quality of the Ningxia rice and the profound historical and cultural connotations, clarified “Ningxia rice” had the endogenous conditions and comparative advantages for implementing industrial development. Second, analyzed the industry development status and existing problems for “Ningxia rice”. Third, according to the new institutional economics theory, proposed the implementation of government-led industrialization path for “Ningxia rice”. Finally, from the improvement of industrial management model, construction of the protection of geographical indications system, integration and restructuring of the industry chain, marketing strategies etc, put forward policy recommendations accordingly.
