Abstract: The objectives are to better understand the change rule of blood physiological and biochemical indexes of different-parity dairy cows, thus to guide the practical production. Holstein cows of different parities with similar body conditions are chosen in this experiment. The blood routine indexes and blood biochemical indexes of Holstein cows are examined. The results showed that the number of white blood cells increased significantly in the 5th parity cows, obviously higher than that in the 2nd-4th parity cows (P <0.05). The number of erythrocytes in the 2nd-4th parity cows was significantly higher than that in the 5th parity and primiparous cows (P <0.05). However, the amount of hemoglobin in primiparous cows was higher than that in the 2nd-5th parity cows (P <0.05). Furthermore, the percentage of neutrophils in the 5th parity cows showed a significant rise (P <0.05). According to the blood biochemical results, ALKP content and calcium ion concentration in primiparous cows were significantly higher than those in the 2nd-4th parity cows (P <0.05), and the trends were all reduced gradually with the increase of parity. Thus, there are certain correlations between physiological and biochemical indexes and different parities. Our results will provide a basis for the breeding management of different-parity cows.
