Abstract: Abstract: The morphological features and relative frequency of Somatostatin secreting cells in the digestive tract of the columbae livia domesticus were investigated by avidin-biotin-peroxidase complex immunohistochemical methods using ss antisera The somatostatin secreting cells were presented in somatostatin body and below.and the number of somatostatin body was the largest and a few were showed in intestine ,. There was no significant difference between the Various parts of the small intestine The Somatostatin secreting cells were seen between epithelial cells of mucosa layer and gastric gland, a few at the bottom of epithelial cells. The shape of Somatostatin secreting cells was diverse, there were ellipse, tapering, shuttle and so on.By the morphological observation,we consider that the distribution of somatostatin cells in the digestive tract is relevanted to the function of each part of digestive tract.
