Abstract:
The latest progresses in the cytological and molecular mechanisms of GSI (gametophytic self-incompatibility) were reviewed, such as the signal transduction mechanisms regulated by S-RNase, intracellular free calcium in pollens or other factors unlinked to S-locus. In addition, some problems in studying GSI were put forwards and the research trends and emphases in the future were also discussed. This review may provide a reference to further researches in this field.
