Abstract: "Yunhonghua No.5 Yunhonghua No.6 are new flower oil dual-use varieties being developed through systematic selection by Industrial Crop Institute,Yunnan academy of agricultural sciences (YAAS) . The growth of the varieties were 178d and 183d. In 2013-2014 year multi-point test, the average seed yield were 2166 kg/hm₂ and 2161.8 kg/hm₂, increase18.47 % and 18.24% compared with the average seed yield per hectare of the control varieties. The average petal yield were 512.1kg / hm₂ and 529.95kg / hm₂, increase 20.00% and 24.18% compared with the average petals yield per hectare of the control varieties .Its main characteristics were unarmed, suitable height ,easy picking, color red, moderate growth period, high yield, high oil content (29.1% and 26.3%), high linoleic acid (81.95% and 80.86%) ,disease resistance, drought resistance and wide adaptability. Yunnan safflower production and demonstration had been played a good role in promoting the safflower industry. The varieties were known as "Yunhonghua No.5 and Yunhonghua No.6 by Yunnan seed management station after identification in April 2015.The two varieties had high economic and social benefits significantly combined with the cultivation techniques, were suitable for planting area of altitude (1000-1600m) in Nujiang, Lancang River, Yuanjiang River, Red River, Jinsha River and the area of its tributary valley and the same ecological type,also to adapt to Xinjiang safflower planting areas.
