Response of Foxtail Millet Varieties (Lines) with Different Genotypes to Drought Stress and Drought Resistance Evaluation

Abstract: The objective of this study is to investigate the effects of drought stress on growth and yield-related traits of foxtail millet with different genotypes using tube experiment. The results showed that chlorophyll content decreased by 4.90%-33.11%, plant height decreased by 9.56%-30.93%, panicle length decreased by 5.58%-30.90%, ear diameter decreased by 3.42%-16.34%, single panicle weight decreased by 7.30%-45.71%, grain weight per panicle decreased by 11.83%-54.72%, milled millet percentage decreased by 4.89%-16.60%. Among ten varieties, ‘Jigu 31’, ‘Canggu 5’ and ‘Jigu 19’ showed better drought resistance.
