Abstract: In this paper, batch method was conducted to study the effect of zeolite on phosphate availability in alluvial soil. It found that the phosphate adsorption rate in the natual zeolite was 39.2% of that in the alluvial soil. The phosphate desorption rate in the former increased 63.2% than that in the latter. When the natural zeolite application amount was 2.5 g, the natural zeolite significantly increased phosphate adsorption and desorption in alluvial soil. The phosphate adsorption rate in the treatment that the natural zeolite was added in alluvial soil prior to phosphate was lower than that in the treatment that phosphate applied to alluvial soil before the natural zeolite, while the phosphate desorption showed a contrary tendency. The natural zeolite had significant potential in phosphate preserving and supplying in alluvial soil.
