Abstract:

Effects of chlorine applying time on chlorine accumulation and chemical component in flue-cured tobacco were examined. The results showed that (a) comparing with basal applying chlorine, watering chlorine fertilizer at the end of root elongation stage deferred the chlorine absorption in tobacco, decreased the chlorine content, accumulation and distribution in lower leaves, and increased them in middle leaves; (b) at final harvest, there weren’t obvious difference between two treatments in chlorine content, accumulation amount and speed; and (c) Total alkaloids content, total chlorine content and ratio of potassium to chlorine in flue-cured leaves of two treatments were in appropriate range. It was more accord with the disciplinarian of tobacco growth and in favor of chlorine content of lower leaves as watering chlorine fertilizer at the end of root elongation stage.
