Development of Virus Induced Gene Silencing and Application of VIGS in Plant Abiotic Stresses

摘要: 病毒诱导的基因沉默(Virus-indcued gene silencing, VIGS)技术是指带一段包基因序列的重组病毒侵染植物,引起植物同源基因沉默与表型变异,进而通过表型变异进行基因功能分析的方法,是近年发展起来的植物基因功能研究的新技术。为了进一步探讨VIGS应用策略,笔者归纳了VIGS的分子机理、VIGS的载体开发和VIGS技术在植物生物逆境方面的研究应用3 个方面近些年的研究进展,得出了VIGS在植物生物逆境方面的问题及应用价值。

Abstract: Virus-induced gene silencing (VIGS) involves a virus delivery vector carrying a short sequence of targeted gene to infect plant, which could cause plant homologous gene silencing and phenotypic variation, and the gene function is analyzed by phenotypic variation. It is a recently developed technique of plant gene function research. In order to explore the application strategy of VIGS, in this review, molecular mechanism of VIGS, VIGS vectors development and the application of VIGS in plant abiotic stresses were introduced. The problems and application value of VIGS in plant abiotic stresses were obtained.
