Abstract: Because of the fact that the economic situation is relatively backward in mountainous areas, the paper raises the point of view that the difficulty for socialism new countryside construction is in mountainous areas, so the emphasis of the construction should be also in mountainous areas. In accordance with the needs of ecological, economic and social aspects, forestry will be able to develop its functions to full in the construction. Therefore, forestry comprehensive development should be the main role in the socialism new countryside construction. Principally reliable on ecological construction in mountainous areas, forestry should develop its industry, fasten the establishment of its modern property rights, upgrade its classification management system, establish forest ecological benefits compensation system, etc. In the meantime with the emphasis and settlement on problems of countryside, farmers and agriculture, we should pay high attention to and solve the issues related to development of forestry for promotion of socialism new countryside construction.
