Abstract: Anthrium is very valuable cut flowers in the world, and its many varieties are easy to age and decay. Former tests showed that cut-Anthuriumms insensitive to Ag+. This study proves that the aging and decaying cut-Anthurium is not caused by ethylene but caused by the reduction of the stress resistance of Anthurium, the strengthened respiratory metabolism, the exhausted inner energy substance, the reduction of the contents of GA3,Z and ZR of the growth promotion phytohormones, the soaring of the content of the abscisic acid of the growth inhibiting phytohormone, All these will lead to the destruction of the tissues, cells and subcellular structures, the pigment degradation, the color change and finally the decay.
