Abstract: Huaidou 8,a new soybean variety with high oil content,high yield, and disease resistance, wide adaptation, was developed from a cross of Huai 89-15×He 84-5 through SSD method. It shows good qualitive characters,such as oil content exceeded 22% .It was released by National Crops Varieties Approval Committee in June 2005. It is suitable to be planted in Northern Huaihe River Region in Jiangsu and Anhui province ,even potentially in the regions of Southern Henan province and Southwestern Shandong province in China.It has been applied for national plant variety right protection of new soybean varieties.
