Chemical Regulation of the Setting Percentage and Filling Rate of Hybrid rice

Abstract: The lower sink (grains) activity of inferior grains of hybrid rice causes lower setting percentage, grains-filling rate and transportation rate of organic substance, and greatly restrict rice yield raising further. In order to enhance the setting percentage and grains-filling rate of inferior grains, taking spray of water as control, apply DCPTA, zeatin and two other plant hormones at heading stage, and examine its effect on yield, setting percentage and grains-filling rate of superior and inferior grains at autumn. The results indicated that application of DCPTA and zeatin could significantly increase the yield of hybrid rice liangyoupeijiu. The reason was that it could increase the setting percentage and grains-filling rate of inferior grains, whereas it has not significant effect on superior grains.
