Abstract: In order to study the relation of leaf colour and chlorophyll content of Lonicera maackii‘Hongye’. Relation of chlorophyll content, carotenoid content in April, May, July, Sep and leaf colour change rule in a year of Lonicera maackii‘Hongye’and Lonicera maackii were studied in this paper. Results shows that: the chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b, chlorophyll a/b ratio, gross chlorophyll content of Lonicera maackii‘Hongye’ is smaller than Lonicera maackii.The carotenoid content of young leaf and old leaf is higher than mature leaf. The leaf color of Lonicera maackii‘Hongye’ is stabilization in a year. It is one of illumination landscape tree. It is also a kind of good local colour plant in North of China.
