Abstract:

To study the salt tolerance ability of Groune-cover chrysanthemum, the seedlings of Groune-cover chrysanthemum were treated with NaCl in different concentrations (0, 50, 100, 250, 400 mmol/L) for 15 days, then examined the physiological indexes. The result showed that Groune-cover chrysanthemum could tolerate low salt-stress (?100mmol/LNaCl). The plasma membrane permeability, malondialdehyde(MDA) content increased along with the concentration of NaCl increasing. The activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD), guaiacol peroxidase (POD), catalase (CAT) increased at first and then decreased along with NaCl concentration increasing. Soluble sugar content increased under high NaCl concentration. The proline content did not change significantly. Based on the results above we concluded that Groune-cover chrysanthemum show high adaptability to salt stress.
