Abstract:

Stalk physical characteristics of 6 varieties with diferent lodging—resistances at 3 nitrogen levels and 3 planting densities were studied．The relationships between stalk physical characteristics and lodging resistances of the plants were analyzed.The results indicated that the plants height were different, the relationships between the plants height and lodging resistances were also different under different cultivation conditions.The plant Lodging resistance is negatively correlated with the length of the first internode．and most negatively correlated with the length of the second internode．and positively correlated with the length of the third internode． and most significantly positively correlated with the area of the basal stalk. and significantly positively correlated with the thickness of the basal stalk.The fit nitrogen levels and planting densities could settled the plants height and stalk physical characteristics at a better level . There were evident diferences between varieties in the stalk physical characteristics and the plants Lodging resistances
