Expression Pattern of VIP Gene in‘Xingguo Gray Goose’

Abstract: In order to understand the seasonal breeding pattern of‘Xingguo Gray Goose’, the expression of VIP in hypothalamus, pituitary, fallopian tube and ovary of‘Xingguo gray goose’was studied. The control group was in natural photoperiod, and the experimental group was exposed to an artificial program of long and short photoperiods to make the geese breed out of season. The expression levels of VIP gene were tested by FQRT-PCR method in 12 female geese at laying and non-laying period, respectively. The results showed that VIP had different expressions in pituitary, hypothalamus, fallopian tube and ovary between laying period and non-laying period. The expression of hypothalamus and pituitary VIP in non-laying period was higher than that of laying period (P<0.05).
