Abstract: To compare drought resistance of different spring wheat varieties (lines), seven spring wheat varieties (lines) were treated with different-degree water stress, with different-concentration PEG-8000. The effects of different concentrations (0, 10%, 20% and 30%) and different time (the first day, the third day, and the fifth day) on the physiological and biochemical indexes of spring wheat were studied. The results showed that with the increasing extent and duration of drought stress,‘Xinchun No.6 had higher POD activity, and the accumulation rate of MDA content was slower. The accumulation rate of the proline content of‘4701’was faster.‘4501’had the highest content of soluble sugar under the treatment of 30% PEG-8000 on the fifth day. At last, we selected‘Xinchun No.6’,‘4701’and‘4501’which were more suitable for drought stress environment, and provided a theoretical basis for the screening of drought resistant varieties (lines) of spring wheat in Xinjiang.
