Abstract: The study aims to assess the influence of different intercropping modes on yield, quality and total output of cotton and peanut, and then determine the feasibility of these modes in production practice. The test designed 5 intercropping modes: cotton-peanut 3-1, 2-1, 1-1, 2-2, 1-2, cotton (CK1) and peanut (CK2). The results showed that: (1) the highest output value per unit area came from 3-1 treatment, the second came from 2-1 treatment; (2) 1-2 treatment had the highest number of cotton branch, boll number, boll weight, seed weight, lint, lint before frost, and the cotton fiber quality was the best; (3) 1-2 treatment had the highest peanut full pods number per plant; (4) CK2 had the best yield components with the lowest seed water content. Taken together, intercropping mode of 3-ridge cotton and1-ridge peanut, 2-ridge cotton and1-ridge peanut can improve the population economic benefits, while enhance cotton fiber quality, both the two modes can be recommended in production practice.
