Abstract: Based on the survey data of 302 households from 27 villages in northern part of Jiangsu Province, using the Probit-ISM model to explore the influencing factors on farmers’ behavior of agroforestry and their relevance and hierarchies. The results indicated that the age and gender of householders, the household population and the understanding of relevant policy were significantly at the level of 5%; educational levels, annual income, woodland area, participating in farmer cooperatives or not, having agricultural technology promotion stations or not and the willing to loan were significantly at the level of 1%. Among these, annual income, having agricultural technology promotion stations or not and the willing to loan are the surface direct factors; woodland area and the understanding of relevant policy are the intermediate indirect factors; household population, educational levels and participating in farmer cooperatives or not are the deep roots of factors.
