Abstract:

To explore the effect of selenium fertilizer spraying on the absorption of selenium and cadmium in Chinese cabbage at different growth stages, field experiments were conducted to investigate the effects of selenium fertilizer spraying at various growth stages on the increase of selenium uptake from Cd-contaminated soil and the utilization index of exogenous Se in Chinese cabbage. The results showed that cabbage sprayed with selenium fertilizer at the seedling stage + rosette stage + head stage (YM+LZ+JQ) had significantly higher shoot biomass compared to other spraying stages. Continuous spraying of selenium fertilizer during the seedling stage + rosette stage + heading stage (YM+LZ+JQ) had a pronounced effect on reducing Cd content in the underground part of cabbage. Additionally, the Se content in both shoot and underground part of cabbage was significantly higher during this spraying period. The utilization index of exogenous Se in cabbage sprayed continuously with selenium fertilizer during the seedling stage+ rosette stage + head stage (YM+LZ+JQ) was 2.63, significantly higher than that of other spraying periods. In conclusion, spraying selenium fertilizer during the cabbage seedling stage + rosette stage + head stage (YM+LZ+JQ) had a better effect on reducing Cd content and increasing Se content.
