Abstract: T461, developed from Lunhui 422 crossed with Italian japonica variety Cripto, is a japonica-like restoring-line to CMS rice, with broad-spectrum compatibility to indica & japonica and good general combining ability. T461 can restore different CMS type including WA, DA, IA, BT and Dian type. The spikelet fertility of test-crossers was above 90% averagely for T461, combined with indica and japonica testers, to be strong compatibility with broad-spetrum. In development of T461, the segregating progeny was test-crossed by different CMS lines for restoring and combining ability, at the same time for broad-spectrum compatibility.
