1B/1R type and non-1B/1R type male sterile lines and their male maintainable lines of wheat were selected to study the content of MDA and membrane permeability from meiophase to pollen maturation period. The results showed that there were difference of MDA content and electrical conductivity between 1B/1R type and non-1B/1R type male sterile lines and their male maintainable lines, and they were all increased, but electrical conductivity of 1B/1R type male sterile lines were more than 1B/1R type in nucleus、 thinucleate and pollen maturation period; The periods of dinucleate stage and thinucleate stage were the key periods of microspore abortion of 1B/1R and non-1B/1R types male sterile lines.
