As a kind of potted and landscape plant, Bougainvillea glabra is used widely all over the country. By the research in the flowering time regulator techniques, Bougainvillea glabra can flower all year round and its application range is widened. Consequently, its commercial value is also increased. In addition, the breeding period can be shortened whiles the breeding course can be quickened respectively. This article reviewed the research advance of flowering time regulator in Bougainvillea glabra. The flower differentiation of Bougainvillea glabra can be regulated by some relative environment factors including light treatments, temperature and water condition .The vegetative growth phase of Bougainvillea glabra can be controlled by the management condition so as to affect the flowering time. Whereas the use of growth regulators is not regulate the flowering time, but also can prolong the flowering time and improve the flower quality simultaneously.
