Abstract: In order to adjust the urban land structure reasonably, realize the optimal allocation of land resources, and promote the healthy and stable development of social economy, based on the survey of land use data and related statistical data of Longquan District in 1996-2012, characteristics on the dynamic change of construction land of Longquan in 17 years was analyzed, with grey correlation model for quantitative study on construction land’s driving force introduced. The results showed that: Longquan’s overall construction land had a trend of rapid growth which was 123.50% nearly in 17 years. The residential and industrial land had the largest increase which was up to 139.77%. Traffic land was increased by 58.88%, while water conservancy facilities had a small increase relatively. Results of the driving force analysis showed that: the expansion of construction land was driven by three major factors such as the population, the level of economic development, and the industrial structure adjustment, while the population was the most obvious factor in it, grey correlation of population was 0.992.
