Abstract:

The orthogonal design was used to study the optimum process of extracting total saponins in Psammosilene tunicoides W.C. WU et C. Y. Wu. The oleanolic acid was selected as comparison product and 5% vanillin-acetic acid -HClO solution was selected as color-producing reagent. As an indicator, the extraction rate of total saponins was used to indicate the best extraction process. The optimum technological conditions were as follows: extraction temperature 70℃, ethanol concentration 80%, treat time 90 min, ratio of solid to liquor at 1:8. The optimized process had the advantages of low cost, stable and the excellent repeatability.
