Abstract:

In this paper, twenty-one ramie male-sterile germplasms were researched by field investigation. The pollen vigor of twenty-one germplasms was determined. The selfing seeds germination and natural hybridization seeds germination were tested. The results showed that the twenty-one germplasms could be divided into 4 types, include of male flower contabescence type, male flower indehiscent type, male flower opening type and condition sensitivity type according to field growth performance. Three pollens sterility were found through studying pollen vigor of 15 male-flower-opening-type germplasms used I2-KI method and sugarcane cultivation method and testing selfing seeds germination. So, all 21 germplasms were classified 4 kinds, which were male flower contabescence type, male flower indehiscent type, pollen sterility type and undetermined type. The identification of ramie germplasm was discussed and the future direction of research was predicted.
