The Research Advances on Control of Varroa destructor

Abstract:

The ectoparasitic mite Varroa destructor poses a major threat to the survival of western honey-bee (Apis mellifera) populations. Varroa destructor parasite in adult’s worker body and influent nurse or forage behavior, et al. Varroa destructor lay eggs in the bottom of nestroom, then affects the development of bee larvae. Apis is ‘sweet career’, but Varroa destructor harm Apis mellifera, sweet career become bitter. With varroa mite drug-resistant and bee products medicine residual problem, has caused the high attention in the world. There were new advances on researches of Varroa destructor in recently years. The essay summarized the progress, including physical method, chemical methods, natural material, and biology control.
