Abstract:

In order to develop Hunan cotton production and make full and proper use of climate resources, based on GIS technology, through the adaptability analysis of diversified common small grid interpolation methods, preferably selecting interpolation method of climatic element small grid, and eventually using interpolation method of preferred selection, the author predicts the climatic elements by means of 500 m×500 m small grid interpolation, and conducts Hunan cotton refining climatic regionalization by adopting ≥15℃ accumulated temperature, sunshine from the last ten days of April to the middle ten days of November, and high-temperature days in July and August when the highest daily temperature equals or was over 35℃ as regionalization factors. By comparing dynamic climate regionalization of different year periods, the paper analyzed the influence on Hunan cotton planting adaptability of climate changes. The results showed that Hunan had the climatic advantage to develop cotton plant, and the areas were suitable to plant cotton are large. Because of the climate change, the most suitable areas to plant cotton in Hunan decrease, but the suitable areas increase, while less suitable areas and unsuitable areas almost remained the same.
