Abstract:

SSR markers were 2-6 nucleotides of a DNA sequence repeated which widely distributed in different biological genomes. This paper reviewed widely progress of SSR markers in peanut research of China, including the SSR markers in genetic diversity, marker-assisted selection breeding areas. The results showed that there was narrow genetic base in almost all peanut cultivars of China in last decade. The author believe that the future work should be focus on the development of a large number of polymorphic SSR markers, the combination of SSR marker and breeding practice, so as to guide the breeding effectively, improve breeding efficiency.
