Abstract:

The experiment was carried out to find out the effect of seedling-strengthening agent (SSA) on the seedling growth of different super rice genotypes. In this experiment four super rice genotypes were used as experimental materials viz. one hybrid super rice var. ‘Liangyoupeijiu’ and three conventional super rice var. ‘Shengtaiyihao’, ‘Guinongzhan’ and ‘Yuxiangyouzhan’. The results indicated that SSA significantly influenced the seeding growth of different super rice genotypes. Compared with the CK, the treatments of applying SSR shortened the seedling height 22.06%-43.44%, increased the basal stem width 33.93%-126.50% and raised dry weight per unite plant height 33.93%-126.50%. Applying SSR also enormously strengthened the absorbing capability of seedling roots and increased activity of protective enzymes (Peroxidase (POD), Catalase (CAT), Superoxide Dismutase (SOD)) in leaves, so as to strengthen the rice seedling.
