Abstract:

With the development of genomic and the applications of the high-throughput DNA sequencing techniques, many researches were reported about expressed sequence tag (EST) in plant fields, which lay the foundation for the development of EST markers. In recent years there were many studie about EST-SSR in forest tree. In precent review the development and characterization of EST-SSR markers for forest tree were discussed, including a general design step, characterization of EST-SSR markers. Some future in the development of EST markers is also mentioned.
