Abstract:
In order to effectively assess the non-point source pollution of the Yihe watershed caused by the soil erosion, based on soil erosion classification grade criteria (SL 190-2007), universal soil loss equation (USLE) as a key quantitative evaluation model for soil erosion, was used to precisely calculate the parametric factors of the model based on the remote sensing and GIS. Soil erosion intensity in Yihe Valley was assessed by USLE. The space distribution difference of soil erosion intensity was showed and the influence of vegetation cover to soil erosion was analyzed in this study. The result showed that slight eroded area was 90.1% and the terrain factor was the most important in the few factors. In the mountainous area owing to higher vegetation cover the soil erosion was smaller.
