Abstract:
In order to fully exploit the varieties of wheat yield potential, it was very important to define the wheat late sown optimum stage adapting the area climate change, and it was needed to understand the variety characteristics and to determine the rational sowing time and seedling density. In the only irrigation before sowing and at filling stage condition, the field experiment with randomized block design was conducted to study the wheat population growth characteristics and the suitable sowing time and seedling density of the wheat cultivars of ‘Taishan 23’ and ‘Taishan 9818’ in four combinations of sowing date and density. The results showed that, the important influencing factor was the higher stability of the thousand-kernel weight if the wheat was late sown in appropriate time. The leaf area index of flowering, filling stage was closely correlated with the yield. The yield production order of ‘Taishan 23’ in each sowing stage was B1 > B2 > B3 > B4, and the yield of the fourth sowing stage was the lowest and significantly different with the other three sowing stage in the current design. It was suitably sowed in early stage. The yield production order of ‘Taishan 9818’ was B2 > B1 > B3 > B4, and not significantly different with the other sowing stage. It was suitably sowed in all the four stages.
