Abstract:

Stephanandra incise of 2 to 3 years has been studied by artificial shading in order to investigate its shade tolerance. The growth and physiological character of Stephanandra incisa under different shading treatments were measured to reveal the effect of shading. The results showed that Stephanandra incisa with 20%-40% transmittance grew best; when with full illumination, it grew well, however, the leaves became yellow with foxiness; Stephanandra incisa could still alive when with 5% transmittance, and the leaves were small and uniform.
