Abstract:

Glyptostrobus pensilis is a rare and endangered relict species to China. Currently cultivation is the main measures to protect it. However, few research on the cutting propagation of G.pensilis has been reported so far. This paper aims to establish an effective cutting propagation system, which has great significance for germplasm conservation and artificial cultivation of G.pensilis. The cuttage propagation techniques of G.pensilis was explored in this study by testing various factors including different auxin, treatment concentration, treatment time and substrate. The results showed that the cuttings rooting rate was significantly higher by soaking in ABT1 150mg/L solution for 2 h than other hormones. The medium with combination of peat soil:perlite = 2:1 was the best substrate. The terminal bud and sucker were the key factors to improve rooting rate of G.pensilis, while the cuttings rooting rate was significantly higher in spring than autumn. The rooting rate could reach 39.89% by this way. The results would provide a theoretical basis for the protection and management of G.pensilis population.
