Abstract:
In order to evaluate the resistance risk of Spodoptera litura to methoxyfenozide and understand the biological characteristics of Spodoptera litura treated with methoxyfenozide, we raised diet with low dosages of methoxyfenozide to the larvae of Spodoptera litura, investigating its effect on the development and food utilization of Spodoptera litura larva. The results showed that low dosages of methoxyfenozide could inhibited the growth of insect, significantly decrease larval and pupal weight compared with control. Nutrient indicators showed that the relative growth rate (RGR), efficiency of conversion of ingested food (ECI), relative consumption rate (RCR) and efficiency of conversion of digested food (ECD) were significantly lower than control, and the approximate digestibility (AD) of larvae was significantly higher than control. According to the comprehensive evaluation, low dosages of methoxyfenozide could significantly inhibited the growth of Spodoptera litura.
