Abstract: Eleven typical indexes have been selected from yield characters, morphological and physiological and biochemical properties. Upland/lowland relative values of all indexes and their weights have been applied to evaluate the drought resistance of upland and lowland rice. The result of comprehensive evaluation showed that the highest was TANGARA (4.06), significantly higher than the other varieties. IAPAR9 was the second (3.33), which higher than that of XinXiangYou80 (3.21), the lowest was R80(2.59). Thus the upland rice TANGARA has stronger drought resistance, the drought resistance of IAPAR9 was stronger than that of XinXiangYou80, and R80 was poorest. The result was coincident with the field performance. So, the comprehensive evaluation has more objective and definite.
