Abstract:

In order to select drought-resistant plants for un-serviced light roof greening, 9 Sedum cultivars were investigated such as Sedum spurium ‘Coccineum’, S. lineare, S. lineare ‘JinYe’, S. spectabile ‘Borea’ and S. nicaeense etc. Leaf water content, SOD (superoxide dismutase) activity, MDA (malondialdehyde) content and plant appearance etc. were observed under successive drought stress in light incubator which simulated green roof environment. The results showed that with the days of drought stress increasing, the leaf water content decreased slightly and proline less reacted; Membrane lipids proxidation in most of sedum cultivars were slighter than which in S. spurium ‘Coccineum’. The results indicated that most sedums had high drought resistance. The drought resistance of 9 Sedums were comprehensive evaluated with subordinate function, their drought-resistance order was S. lineare>S. spectabile ‘Borea’>S. sarmentosum>S. lineare ‘Kuanye’>S. aizoon>S. hybridum>S. nicaeense>S. lineare ‘JinYe’>S. spurium ‘Coccineum’.
