Abstract:

In the spring of 2012, the author carried out hydrological observation in different densities’ Phyllostachys praecox cv. Prevernalis forests returned from farmland, to research its canopy interception characteristic. The results showed precipitation outside the two Phyllostachys praecox cv. Prevernalis forests had an upwards parabolic relationship with stemflow and throughfall, and had a downwards parabolic relation with canopy interception. The rate of canopy interception of No. 1 sample plot [(15000±750) bamboos/hm2] with uniform distribution and high crown density (0.96) was 51.19%, and that was 38.04% in No. 2 sample plot [(22500±750) bamboos/hm2] with low evenness and crown density (0.85). The large difference between their canopy interceptions meant the large plasticity and improvement potential in such as structure and density of Phyllostachys praecox cv. Prevernalis forest, to improve its ecological hydrology effect.
