Abstract:

In order to investigate the reaction and adaptation of Sedum lineare Thunb growing in the four different culture substrate to drought stress, the effects of drought stress on the relative water content, chlorophyll content, membrane permeability, POD activity and MDA content were studied by experiments of simulating drought stress. The results indicated that the cell membrane permeability and the MDA content were increased with the time of drought stress prolonging, while the RWC was decreased. In addition, the chlorophyll content and the POD activity were firstly increased and then reduced. Sedum lineare Thunb grow well in the light substrate(leaf soil: loam: perlite: vermiculite = 4:3:2:1)which showed higher the RWC, chlorophyll content and POD activity, lower the cell membrane permeability and the MDA content. Consequently, such light substrate tends to be the optimal cultivation substrate for Sedum lineare Thunb.
