Abstract: According to the environment of excessive gravels and absent soil in iron mine dump, the afforestation technology was studied in eastern Hebei Province. The test of fish-scale pits, carrying soil and temporary container seedling were developed. It showed that survival and growth were better which of Syringa oblata and Parthenocissus oricuspidata which were grew into plastic container of 18 cm×14 cm. The afforestation survival rate were 82% and 97%. The afforestation survival rate of Robinia pseudoacacia was only 60%, which was grew into plastic container of 26 cm×21 cm. The Syringa oblata and Parthenocissus oricuspidata had better effect than Robinia pseudoacacia.
