Abstract: To explore the genetic variation of the first pod height in F2 generation of four hybrid combination, five parent materials of adzuki bean with different first pod height were used. The results showed that abundant variations existed in this generation of each combination; Small part of materials of higher first pod height were found in F2 generation of three combinations which has high first pod height parent. More rigid selection in the early generation could been conducted for high heritability of 62.48%-74.49%. In terms of their genetic advance, The first pod height had the potential to raise 5cm in F2 generation of this three combination. The results also showed that the first pod height had good stability under different environmental conditions. Though the trait of first section height in the hybrid generations, indirect evaluation to this trait could been used during 9-18 days after seeding. This paper discussed the influences of the fertilization and the links of sowing technology on the first pod height.
