Abstract: In order to study the characteristics of regional warming and its influence on deep ground temperature and permafrost, the author adopted climate trend rate analysis method to analyze the changes in temperature, deep ground temperature and permafrost depth in western Liaoning at the different time scales from 1961 to 2010. The results showed that: in western Liaoning, the climate was trending to become warming, the annual average temperature tendency rate was 0.371°C/10 a, the climate warming period appeared mainly from September to February, winter was a main season of climate warming, the trend rate was up to 0.778℃ /10 a. The impact of climate warming made significant influence on deep ground temperature and maximum depth of permafrost (P<0.01), as annual average temperature increased by 1℃, the average ground temperature of deep soil increased by 0.5℃; in autumn, the temperature increased by 1℃, the depth of permafrost reduced by 5.8 cm; the trend rate of deep ground temperature was 0.258℃/10 a, the trend rate of maximum depth of permafrost was -4.095 cm/10 a. The above results could be used as the basis of development and utilization of climate resources and sustainable development of industry and agriculture in western Liaoning.
